Dear Friends and supporters,
Welcome to our latest Newsletter, I hope you will find the articles and information enjoyable and informative. Our work at HAB continues across a broad front – at the Centre itself, through supported accommodation at Golders Green, Mill Hill and the Colindale ‘Women’s House’ project; and through supporting Barnet’s Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub.
But the issues keep growing – not least in rough sleeping numbers that have risen again. We know also that Barnet Homes itself has faced a 32% increase in the numbers approaching them for help in the last few months. But, every bit of support counts, and we would like to welcome Mill Hill Church to our community, helping in our fight to eliminate homelessness.
On a ‘lighter’ note – this month sees the anniversary of Joe Lee as our CEO – being in post for 25 years. Joe has steered HAB through highs and lows but his commitment and compassion for those in need has been a constant. Thank you Joe!
Clients have been enjoying some new activities including gardening and cooking, and our recent fundraiser was a success, with Walk in Their Shoes raising over £4,000 for HAB. Last but certainly not least, thanks also to those who enjoyed our stand up comedy evening in July that raised £4,300 for HAB. Many thank you HAB patron Felicity Ward for organising an amazing line up at the Comedy Store!
Our work continues and we thank you for your care, compassion and support.
Enjoy your read!
